Republicans are trying to tout the strength of the economy by bringing up the stock market and the unemployment rate but here’s the question you should be thinking about at the voting booth: Do you and your family feel economically secure?

Unemployment rate is NOT a good indicator of the economy. Many jobs being created are PT, low paying, not secure, no benefits. Such jobs do not translate to economic security. Stock market merely tells us how the 1% are doing. Again, not a good indicator.

Why doesn’t the govt asterisk the official employ #'s: 1) low&stagnate wages 2) real unemploymnt v those who stopped looking bc Congress OUTSOURCED their jobs & livelihood to Asia, BRIC nations, Europe; 3) govt behind tech changes; 4) < age 40 workrs; ran out of unemply benefits.

Metrics should include whether there is parity between the employer and employee. This ties to pensions, insurances and security. When a model exists that ALL control is one-sided nothing else means much. If you can never tell your employer NO, then don't tell me things are good.

Good point! Also with the re-re-repeal of Glass-Stegal banking regulations, the wall street bubble is getting inflated with bad loans and business. After the election the #TrumpDollar is going to pop and nothing the Fed can do this time to fix it.

Comapred with many ppl I *should* feel secure but bc we have no control over healthcare & housing costs, nor wages, I feel insecure. Even if I had less money on hand I would feel more secure with workers, of all backgrounds, making the decisions & utilities+banks being public.

the arc of this prosperity harkens back to Obama’s stewardship of the economy, rescuing us from the 2008 GOP calamity.. now the prosperity forward is bought by massive deficit spending.. the debt? well we’re falling a hundred stories and at the 50th story we’re doing just great.
