Eisenhower and Kennedy warned about undue influence of the military industrial complex. It costs taxpayers over $700B for 2019. With $$$$ PACs is there any wonder why Congress gives POTUS a rubber stamp and we have bipartisan support for endless war?

They aren’t... quit asking rhetorical questions and musing hypotheticals. They are here to lay waste to the new deal and give money to their puppet masters.

I guess a politician thinks any money not taken by government is unfair.

A decreasing revenue "clearly" cannot possibly drive up the debt. If we just completely eliminated literally all taxes, that would of course boost the economy so much that soon enough we make up for the lost taxes again and the deficit will go down
-
So, unless you are an MMT supporter there is no way you can eliminate all taxes. The country would literally fall apart.
-
Republican claims that a tax rate decrease will increase revenue is a very hacky point by them. I mean, if there was a tax rate of 99.9% and we lower it to 99%, that would probably actually increase economic growth considerably and lead to higher revenue. But not at today's rates

The Rs never cared about deficits. It's all propaganda. Every R pres cuts taxes b/c (1) their donors want it, (2) they then cry deficits and try to cut SS, Medicare/Medicaid, (3) the next D will be hamstrung having to deal w/ their mess and won't be able to help ppl.
