Then we allow them to chain migrate their extended family. We also take about 1 million legal immigrants a year. You sound like every other CA liberal, everything is the US fault. We are so awful but your parents still immigrated here.

Actually, I think America is exceptional. My point is that Trump is grossly exaggerating how many asylum seekers we accept.
-
80% are rejected for reasons. We have rules for asylum seekers. 7,000 unknown people waving other countries’ flags, mostly adult men, crossing other borders, headed for the US border. What would you prefer the President call them?

Why do they get to cut around those who are willing to wait and do it lawfully?
-
Applying for asylum IS legal.

According to people that live in fear and lies it is. Somehow, immagrants are out to get us and not the elite families who rig the system in their favor by making themselves richer and sending poor young Americans to fight their meaningless wars.

Do you think we should increase the number we accept legally,
@RoKhanna? -
Do you think we should instead not destroy the economic base of these countries so that large chunks of humanity aren't displaced?.
-
Yes, that would be my solution.

You’re not getting it. How do you legally process this many people? We need workers; they need work permits. We need to make them legit. Congress needs to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
-
And vet them correctly to be sure none of them mean us harm!
-
The vetting of refugee applicants to the US is already one of the most thorough and comprehensive in the world.
-
Our vetting process is strong and takes some time to complete. Whether the number is 4K or 7K, how can you process that number effectively all at once?
-
Idk maybe like we processed all the other caravans that have come to the US over the past two decades. Have you lived under a rock or something?https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.politico.com/amp/story/2018/10/23/migrant-caravan-facts-trump-border-881006 …
-
Seriously, we’ve not processed those people. Many just cross the boarder and rely on catch and release. Clueless.
-
Border*. They're still a 1000 miles away so of course we havnt processed them yet
....I'm sure the best way to sneakily cross the border is via a huge group that's being reported on constantly
. Clearly you're the true genius here
.... -
Doesn’t matter how far away they are, we’re not equipped to handle thousands at once. And did you miss the crossing in Guatemala? Mexican police were there to stop them and couldn’t. And, look what happened this last time - smaller group and no where to house them, let alone

They are Economic migrants. They just rejected Mexico's offer of work visas and heading U.S. They are NOT "asylum seekers" anymore.
