Why does the Congress/white house employees not have a foreign and domestic emoluments clause on them? Congressmen on a 3 figure salary end up multimillionaires They go into and stay in politics not because they care but because it's a lucrative business and the people suffer.

Yeah...it's been over 240 years! Let's shake the Judicial Branch up and make it reflect our development as a nation.

Two of these are good but supermajority requirements in a body that already underrepresents urban and minority populations are bad.

It makes no sense to play russian rullette to see under which president & congress the death of this justice or that justice will fall. Plus, no other nation has lifetime appointments for its highest courts.

Super majority a bad idea that will allow Republicans to block nominations so long after Dems regain control of the Senate. Only solution: increase
#SCOTUS to 11 Justices after#Bernie2020 & retaking Senate. - 1 more reply

I currently do not favor a supermajority. We need to stack the courts now and “fight fire with Fire” We need people who will support solidly constitutional left views ASAP (or just abolish the illegitimate Supreme Court)

Term limits are undemocratic.
-
How?
-
Because it limits the amount of time the people can elect someone
-
For judges/justices, it allows politicians and activists to time their suits knowing exactly when the court will be favorable. It’s engineering our rights without citizens having a say.
-
as opposed to now, when it is... always favorable for big corporations and right wing ideology in general?

Only term limits for 18 years. That means one nomination in each election cycle. Oppose the other two proposals: expanding and supermajority for confirmation.

Nope. I want us to have liberal justices, not justices that Republicans would vote for. No Supreme Court Justice put forward by a Democrat President to a Democrat Senate should garner a single Republican vote, else, that's a bad candidate for the court.

While we're at it let's abolish the Senate or make representation proportional.

I dunno how I feel about the first two, but a 60 Senator supermajority like before the
@SenateGOP did the nuclear option to bring it down to 50 to confirm Gorsuch would be a great idea.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
