In light of the ICPP report, we should incentivize oil companies to help with geoengineering to extend the ice of the Arctic and research on cloud seeding instead of investing in new fossil fuel infrastructure.

I should make clear that I have called for no new fossil fuel projects in California, 100% clean energy by 2035, a carbon tax, and new green deal. I just think we have to transition to investments in the above and mitigation of climate change and wanted to open the conversation.

All this hubbub over a typo. CLEARLY you meant to write “nationalize” not “incentivize.” Damn autocorrect!

Soldiers consume, consume, consume, and produce NOTHING. And all for nothing. Once Europe and Asia tire of our shit, exocet missiles will send our obsolete carriers straight to the bottom of the ocean with all hands; in an afternoon. The US Government is burning up the planet.

Strike that... The GOP are a pack of fools; barking for the Yak Lady. Democrats would have firm control of the entire country if they weren't whores, traitors, and betrayers of their neighbors. This government needs to be brought to heel!

Appreciate this clarification, but really want to urge you against going into the geoengineering space. You're on the right track w/ no new fossil fuels, 100% renewables, green new deal. IPC has a scenario, if we move quickly enough, where geoengineering unicorns aren't needed.

And you know they're already doing R&D, they just don't wanna seed the competition. Time to get real: there's serious money to be had in greenergy.

according to my limited understanding (basically, i read a book by Naomi Klein), geoengineering would make climate change worse for the most vulnerable countries. according to my common sense, geoengineering is scary. wouldn't it reduce the amount of sunlight for plants?

there is absolutely no way we can trust the companies that have knowingly wrecked our ecosystem while simultaneously preventing us from mitigating the damage. if they want to help, they can just give us the money
