In light of the ICPP report, we should incentivize oil companies to help with geoengineering to extend the ice of the Arctic and research on cloud seeding instead of investing in new fossil fuel infrastructure.
Open to your suggestions beyond energy efficiency and renewables about what solutions exist

Thanks! I would suggest a high and increasing price on GHG emissions, and ideally using that revenue to invest in low-carbon infrastructure like high quality electric public transit.
-
I would also suggest heavy R&D into energy technology and carbon removal technology. Research into geoengineering is fine as well - we should just be *extremely* cautious before deploying any such technology.

Afforestation and soil carbon sequestration are other good ideas. These could also promote bipartisan work on job creation in rural areas, something I know you care about.

Plant more trees, much more trees.
