In light of the ICPP report, we should incentivize oil companies to help with geoengineering to extend the ice of the Arctic and research on cloud seeding instead of investing in new fossil fuel infrastructure.

Then it will be done at a global level, with global agreement. It is not a way for the US to "take a lead" on fixing it, nor can it be a way for capitalists and corporations to avoid the inevitable. Because that's absolutely how they will see it, and why they will push for it.
