Interesting that her father had to physically remind the police (with a hand/arm movement) that they needed to clear a pathway so they could comply with the move-on requirement. For less assertive people (child by herself etc) they may have had difficulty leaving.

@ShoebridgeMLC said he attempted to comply before the was arrested so yes perhaps the police weren’t clearing paths for the public to comply@RivOMac ? - Altre 2 risposte

That little girl just learned a valuable lesson about the police and authoritarian govts. Hopefully, her generation will undo some of the terrible anti-civil rights legislation former generations have allowed to pass.

The lesson she learnt was one she should never have faced. Nor should the burden of fixing it be on her generation. Life is meant to be a little easier for the next generation. That's what separates a civil society from barbarians.

The courage of this visibly distressed girl at the Kirribilli
#ClimateProtest, who (while complying with police instructions) then bravely held her protest sign high above her head as she walked between the officers, moved me to tears. Sending my thanks and support to her.

When those laws were introduced by Carr they were introduced with a promise from police they wouldn't be used against protesters. Time move-in laws were tossed.

Very proud of her courage and her holding her sign so high as she leaves!
