I just got an automated rejection email for a job I applied for *eight months ago.* And I recently heard back from two jobs I applied for in late March/early April.

"A few weeks ago, the senior complex where he lives reopened its dining room. I was not terribly worried as I knew that 97% of the residents were vaccinated. What I did not know was that only 50% of staff was vaccinated" Just infuriating, these stories.

Absolutely worthless headline/tweet without the subhed: "represent less than .08 percent of the 164.2 million-plus people fully vaccinated since January." Don't do this.

I thought Ze Gotinha and Koronon the anti-coronavirus cat were the cutting edge of public health mascots but... Pandemio the panda!!

NEW: In the days after Champlain Towers South collapsed, boxes of records, perhaps "20 years" worth, went missing. Surfside officials turned their suspicions on their own former building official, a draft police report revealed. w/

I've said this multiple times: the administration's announcement on May 13th that fully vaccinated people can "stop wearing masks" was premature. Full stop.

Yes, you can get COVID-19 after being vaccinated. But it's different from getting COVID-19 as an unvaccinated person: Your body is equipped with defenses it didn't have before. A breakthrough does NOT put your body back at its immunological square one.

The U.S. is approaching the elusive 70% vaccination goal - at the current rate, it will be reached in a few days. But given the transmissibility of the Delta variant, this should still be considered a floor, not a ceiling.

Ready for their shot, vaccine stragglers explain why they waited. Spent the day at a vaccine clinic. A majority of Latinos I talked to said they had gotten COVID already and felt they had immunity. Says a lot about the conversations we need to be having

About 0.5-0.6% of all Peruvians have died of Covid, the highest rate in the world. But the toll is even more tragic when you look at children: a full 1% have lost at least one parent or guardian to the virus, once again the highest rate in the world

folks talking about “the post-Trump news slump” as if the end goal of news is “engagement”. No. The end goal of news is *useful information*. If we’re not providing utility to our audiences, that’s on us. If we are and they need us less, that’s a business model challenge.

🚨I wrote about what Delta is doing to Missouri. Some hospitals have accrued as many COVID-19 patients in 5 weeks as they got in 5 months last year. Almost all those patients are unvaccinated. HCWs can't believe they're being overwhelmed *again*. 1/
