I think you're misinterpreting what I mean by recommended. I'm talking about suggested videos at the end of a video or how highly it places in related searches. Not being monetised is going to push it further and further down the lists, and again, the revenue isn't the issue here
There's so many factors. For a start, type of content - I primarily do HOI4 content and it gets insane views compared to the rest of my content. A video being shared - among friends or discords and the like. Honestly, if it's just 1k views it is almost definitely not trending.

Oh no I'm not classing it as trending. I just mean say someone uploads a video for example putting Logan Paul on blast, then that's based on a tending topic. I'm sure you remember when your channel was smaller than getting over 1k views on a video was a big deal --

(really hate this character count) compared to an average of 50-100. I have a couple of examples on my channel that I know didn't do better because of word of mouth. It's simply that they're based on games that were popular at the time so, again down to luck and timing --
