    Remember: if you have not profiled your code you don’t really know what it’s doing. Profile in release mode and in debug mode. Profile test data sets and production data sets. Profile data sets that seem way too large to work. Profile unit tests. Profile everything.

    Ray tracing has this issue too! With purely random raycasts, we often get noisier results. So we turn to pseudorandomness to mitigate the clustering effects shown in this thread. The solution describes here is what we call stratified sampling:
