Relax. Twitter and Facebook are not the internet, and they're not the government. These are private companies. A little bit like a supermarket asking you to wear a mask. You can just stay out or leave if you don't like it.

The problem is, if you want your voice to be heard, they're the only game in town. Internet naturally creates monopolies of every industry. Facebook Twitter Amazon, etc

People feel shockingly entitled to dictate the parameters of a service which is provided to them without being billed for it. (Not “free”—we do surrender personal data in exchange for using said platforms, which in turn sell advertising, making those platforms available to us.)
