My hope is that you start taking the safety and lives of Correctional Officer's seriously. One of my brothers from the Kenora Jail was taken hostage and mercilessly beaten this week and not a word from anyone in the government.
I am working with Minister Tibollo and others in CSCS to develop a solid strategy to deal with safety of COs, P&POs, nurses and inmates in our detention centres.

While this is encouraging to hear, when is the plan expected to be put in place? In addition to one of our brothers being taken hostage in Kenora we as frontline staff have faced numerous assaults that have seemingly gone unnoticed and with little to no consequence for the IM'S.
Will this plan being put into place include consultation with front line staff members or will it be another example of people who have never stepped foot on the floor of a correctional institution making rules that don't help or make the situation worse (like Sappers)?
