This is not a technical issue. Austerity politics in Congress led to a slower recovery which paved the way for Donald Trump. And in Europe austerity politics paved the way for the rise of right wing nationalism. Progressives must unequivocally reject it!

Why is MSM suddenly surprised about Trump repeating Kremlin talking points on Afghanistan? Trump has been pushing Russian/Soviet talking points for a very long time. Anyone remember Trump not ruling out recognizing Crimea as belonging to Russia because people speak Russian there

This us of course the same bill that passed in the Senate on a 100-0 vote several weeks ago. Clearly no actual issues with the bill. He just wants to protect poutie Trump from looking bad, and hurting several hundred thousand Federal employees in the process is fine with him.

Civility means politely accepting the violence imposed upon us by the ruling class. Endless war isn't civil. Union busting isn't civil. Gentrification isn't civil. Starvation wages aren't civil. The corporate agenda isn't civil. We shouldn't be either.

Rep. Liz Cheney, daughter of Dick Cheney, yesterday attacked "the fraud of socialism." Really? I wasn't aware that it was "socialism" that lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and got us into a horrific war that we should never have started.

A quick thread on the economics of a much higher top rate for the super-rich. TL;DR version is that is on very solid ground here. There is a lot of evidence that from an economic and fiscal perspective, we'd be way better off with top rates approaching 70.

Attention Senator McConnell: It is time to re-open the government. The House just passed funding bills the Senate already supported. Hundreds of thousands of workers are going without pay. It is time to put country over loyalty to Trump. It is time to show leadership.
