Who leaves 30K in equipment unattended in any city? That’s just poor street smarts

It wasn't "unattended". It was in their car and they were eating at a table about 50 feet away

That’s literally unattended?? Left it open to public view and made a calculated decision not to bring it home vs leaving it in open view without anyone watching the stuff. This is basic street smarts that that dude lacked. There are a lot of better examples of SF incompetence

Being willing to accept that your property will be stolen from a locked vehicle, in public, during daylight, is part of the problem.

Yes it’s a problem but NOT SPECIFIC TO SF. There are a lot of things to criticize Chesa over but this is an overall city and suburban crime issue. Did your parents not teach you to put away expensive items out of view of the public in a car?

I'm not saying this is specific to SF. Being willing to accept that someone will steal something from your car, while you're driving, is part of the problem. My parents taught me is never live in cities with these kinds of problems.https://twitter.com/amegregan5/status/1357950023829360646 …
