    Beautiful ballad feature... blessed to have heard him with Blakey, Hank Mobley, several times with the band he co-led with Junior Cook... and the first time I went to hear Freddie at Slugs'... when he never showed😂sent Hardman to cover... always a joy to hear him...

    A lot of trumpeters are more famous, but it's hard to beat Bill Hardman. Beautiful player. He would've been 89 today. Live in Copenhagen, 1968, with Blakey and the Messengers. Rest of the band: Julian Priester, Billy Harper, Ronnie Matthews, Larry Evans
