13th Amendment. Lincoln used this to free the slaves. All men are created equal. He emphasized constitution should reflect all men regardless of color.

It took 3 Amendments to grant rights to black people. They are collectively known as the Civil War Amendments. Two of three passed well after Lincoln's death in 1865. The 14th (1868), and the 15th (1870). Have you figured out you're talking to someone who studied this?

I didn't even notice that you said Republicans ended segregation. No, that was JFK and LBJ, two Democrats. The Southern Democrats, switched to the Republican party during that era and the parties switched who was Conservative and who was Liberal. Look up "The Southern Strategy."
