UNIFIL is designed to support the authority of the Government of Lebanon and to remove Hezbollah. But if Hezbollah is a part of the Government then the United States should reconsider its support for the UNIFIL renewal mandate.

Agreed, sadly the only 'government' Lebanon has right now is Hezbollah. The people of Lebanon suffer while the extremists rage on. UNIFIL is another Globalist idea that does nothing to help the people on the ground in times of crisis.

'UNIFIL is designed to remove Hezbollah' is an incorrect reading of their mandate. Now, they are just an observing then reporting entity; no more no less. To be effective, UNIFIL rules of engagement must be changed to allow them military intervention when a violation is observed.
