    It’s early - but here is where German elections stand now. Merkel’s party struggling against the socialists. But the Greens have collapsed from earlier expectations. It seems many Green voters are voting SPD to send Christian Democrats a message.

    As well, the system of registering to vote is nowhere near as onerous - anywhere - as it is in the US. In most other developed nations you don't have to re-register every time and they can't just purge you for not voting.

    Haha. Are you insane? It’s so easy to register. It’s everywhere. And, since we don’t have IDs then the registration is the way we try and make sure it’s one vote, one person.
