This is awful, but unsurprising. The proof of his racism was that he chased down and murdered a young black man in cold blood. Entirely sick of Americans only acceptable “proof” of racism being use of the n-word, where literally every other racist action makes intent unknowable.

The sad thing about this is that Mr. McMichael is totally unexceptional in every way. Ahmaud Arbery lived in a society where these attitudes are commonplace. The fatal encounter could have happened on just about any street with other white men acting on their prejudices and hate.
