In point of fact, a majority of Down Syndrome fetuses in Europe and USA are aborted. What I recommended is not outlandish but the norm.

@RichardDawkins but altogether very sad and I suggest very poor judgement on your part. #ShameOnYou

@MullensMusings And on the part of more than half the people actually faced with the decision in Europe or America?

@RichardDawkins faced with & making the decision are two wholey separate issues. I am 100% prochoice but I fear your comment was poor taste

And that, sir, is what is truly immoral. @RichardDawkins

@TorchOWyatt Yes, well that's your point of view. It's not the point of view of most doctors or most women pregnant with a Down fetus.

That is a sad commentary on our society. @RichardDawkins

.@RichardDawkins If woman are allowed to abort children carrying DS, can they abort based on fetus with a specific skin color?

@jlangdale @RichardDawkins Having a certain colour of skin is an impairment? Comparable to having a very serious disability?

    4. Jonathan Langdale ‏@jlangdale 20 Aug 2014

@lesimonator @RichardDawkins The question is not what I think is impairment or disability, does the mother have the right to label traits?

    5. Simon ‏@lesimonator 20 Aug 2014

@jlangdale @RichardDawkins DS is a genetic defect. Skin is skin. Probably why they don't do a skin colour test on unborn fetuses.

@lesimonator @RichardDawkins So are you saying that you get to make this choice for a woman?

@jlangdale @RichardDawkins not at all. I'm saying you're completely absurd to compare those two things. These things are tested for a reason

@lesimonator @RichardDawkins You're stating the obvious, and avoiding answering the question.

@jlangdale @RichardDawkins Your obvious rhetorical and unrelated question about racist pregnant ladies?

@RichardDawkins Gee, there was someone else who also thought destroying "subhumans" (jews, gays, catholics, ds people) was "the norm."

.@RichardDawkins But would you agree that we can't possibly know the ultimate evolutionary outcome of keeping or eliminating DS?

    2. Risteárd Críonna ‏@ricky_pru 21 Aug 2014

@jlangdale @RichardDawkins Well actually with a trisomy I don't see any evolutionary outcome, since the subjects are usually sterile.

@ricky_pru @RichardDawkins Might a reduced sterility pressure allow for selection of alternatives?
