Stallman was the founder - and is STILL the President and Board Chair - of the Free Software Foundation. The FSF is enormously influential. Among other activities, it publishes the software licenses used by much of the 'copyleft' world - the GPL, LGPL, and AGPL licenses.

I've been a diehard free & open source software user, contributor, and backer since college in the 90s. But at this point, I would rather run proprietary software that I can NEVER see or change if the alternative is to run software licensed by the FSF.

I'm done. The free software community looks the other way while they build their empires on licenses that sustain Stallman's power.

Hey @fsf - fire your President and Board Chair. He just sent an email to the MIT computer science community claiming that sex with an underaged girl is not rape. I know you know about him and his 'problematic' ideas already. Just letting you know that WE KNOW.

Stallman is a weirdo with unorthodox beliefs, most of which are wrong, but all progress comes from such weirdos. If arguing that the US age of consent should be the same as the UK is cause for eternal banishment then is it safe to talk about anything anymore?

I think Stallman is wrong and find a lot of his beliefs to be crazy. But if it's not allowable to be wrong then what kind of police state are we trying to create? If you disagree with him then sit down and talk with him.
