Rich, I do not feel it is a random event, and change I agree should be requested. My concern is with the language used. It I feel it detracts from the argument for change.
While there's value in tailor your message to the audience, the problem is that this isn't the first time that RMS has been asked to change. Or the second. He's been like this for decades, and people have been speaking up for decades. Moral outrage is absolutely fine here.
