I see a lot of old school hackers popping up claiming that young people should never start their career in Security and rather spend like a decade bouncing around helpdesk and sysadmin jobs before getting the first infosec job. Srsly?https://twitter.com/fallenour/status/998560796111265793 …

I understand where you’re coming from. 20yrs ago there was no real path to security and the only way to get started was getting into regular IT jobs first. But hey, it’s 2018 and you’re basically telling young people to spend the first decade of their career NOT doing security.

Not only that, but you're telling them to get accustomed and accepting of the awful ways things are done in practice before they learn why it's all awful from a security perspective.
