Depending on one's definition of "modern", I'd say that one of the first "modern" computer buses was the DEC VAX SBI bus, introduced in 1977 and used in the VAX 11/780, /785, /8600, /8650.

One of the first "modern" buses used on microcomputers was Intel Multibus II (IEEE 1296, ISO/IEC 10861), introduced in 1987. It was much different than Intel's original Multibus (IEEE 796, IEC 796), and not as commercially successful.
