I learned assembly by hacking things on Windows so I'm only really familiar with Intel syntax. Any specific reason why you dislike it so much?

I think it's a mix of: 1. Seeing "DWORD" anywhere 2. Awkward addressing syntax, esp. wrt index/scale slots. 3. Culture. Gut association is with DOS/Windows/MASM/MSVC stuff.

Heh, I tended to use nasm-style omitted sizes (hoping you ended up with the correct one). I can definitely see the other two complaints.
