1/ It’s weird to think about, but these are the final days of new sports cars that will come with manual transmissions. EVs will dominate in the next decade, and there’s no reason for a clutch. That means, cars today are fastest manual transmission cars that will ever be built.

2/ The reason for a manual transmission with a clutch, beyond gearing, is combustible engines need to idle above a certain RPM or they stall. Electric engines don’t stall. Ergo, as EVs take over the market the superior experience of driving a car with a stick will disappear.

The superior experience of the future is going to be having a car without 50 layers of java crap and 300-700 ms between the accelerator pedal and the response.
