I wish supporting neoliberal ideals, actually being implemented at scale and causing untold amounts of human misery and planetary damage, was as unacceptable in my social circles as supporting Nazis is.
I think we have good reason to be more outraged at the support for nazis though. While neoliberalism causes vast harm, it doesn't preclude a path past its errors. Rise of fascism/nazism otoh threatens to plunge the world back into dark ages with no path forward for centuries+.

I don't know that that's true. Neoliberals, not nazis, are the ones who've put the world on the brink of being incompatible with globally-organized civilization. This isn't to defend nazis, obviously, just that we are very bad at seeing the scale of harm neoliberalism has done.

Maybe I'm naive, but to me it looks like, if we didn't have bad actors stoking hate, attacking all the progress that's been made in education and media, etc., we'd be on a pretty good path to widespread realization that neoliberalism is wrong.

Without a belief that the majority of neoliberalism's victims are "less human" than its beneficiaries, which is what nazis are selling, I don't think you can sustain a belief that it's just.

Of course my view here is somewhat predicated on a belief that most humans, unless manipulated to do otherwise, prefer peace to war. Related recent read:https://twitter.com/Lily_Of_Cinder/status/992943137386414081 …
