Both @Amazon and @Google need to step up and own the fact that the steps they are taking right now on domain fronting will deprive vulnerable populations of secure services. They need too own it—and do something to fix it.https://twitter.com/signalapp/status/991390077937946625 …

If we allow companies to build such monopoly power we must also demand they use it for good.
-
For “good”, yes. Also for “porn”. Or for “warez”. Or whatever is classified as good, porn, or warez in your jurisdiction. My point is that there is no universally accepted definition of what AWS should not be enabling, leaving AWS themselves in the position of deciding.

Thinking "involves value judgements" means "hey we can get out of having to do something hard" and still be "neutral" is everything that's wrong with the tech industry.

I’m just playing devil’s advocate here. I don’t want the moral values of Saudia Arabia applied to my
@netflix library either. Online content can be one country’s “incitement to hatred”, another’s “felony holocaust denial” or a third’s “inalienable free speech”. Choose wisely. -
Devil's advocate is never a good look, and none of what you said is relevant.
-
It would be more effective for you to directly address the corruption in the Putin regime than waging a proxy war against AWS.
-
I could really do without the concern trolling or the assumption that my interest here has anything to do with Putin.
