Yes, I don't understand this argument at all. OF COURSE you can make backdoors that, under some set of assumptions, only deliver keys or plaintext to authorized people under authorized conditions. The problem is meeting those assumptions, which we don't know how to do.

The only authorized condition is consent of person whose key it is. Which doesn't need any backdoor.
