Anyone tried using pi zero w's as super-cheap non-crap (compared to consumer 'router' products) wifi bridges?
Every time I checked sites have them as "kits" ($24+) but not bare board. Not so bad if the kit has a couple things you need anyway like OTG cable and power supply.

I've always found the kits to be stupidly overpriced to compensate, especially given that I already have all of the items normally in these kits.
-
Well yeah they're overpriced if you don't need them, but I'd price the miniHDMI adapter and OTG adapter at about $4 each, covering just over half the price difference, so it's not too bad.

The "pi for $10" narrative is deceptive, though.
-
Maybe a full pi (one of the models with wifi; the new 3 B+ seems to even have dual-band) ends up being a better option.
-
Should be better but still maddeningly frustrating that one more or less has to pay at least $10 more than advertised price to land one.
