I am going for a mix between 1 and 2 now (Share ownership with anyone who works on “core” product, contract out roles like legal and accounting and pay them well) But I can see ethical arguments for all three.

I went with 2 because lots of people don't want the stress of sharing ownership, just want to get paid well to put skills to work doing cool stuff.
