More like yay for the broken language that is overly complex to parse and became a victim of its own success?
If C is "overly complex" I look forward to your reviews of every other language out there...
The matter here has nothing to do with parsing. It's just going out of its way to misinterpret types because the implementors had no idea what they were doing.
Coding a language implementation from "hey guys based on the intro C book I once read I think it goes like this" rather than from the spec.
