Wow, finally found non-shit (and FOSS!) camera app for Android. https://f-droid.org/app/net.sourceforge.opencamera …
This is not the issue I'm dealing with. It's unrelated and not present on my device.

Do you care if the app is open source? Which phone is this?
-
Strongly prefer FOSS. I don't want a device specific solution. I want an app that works on any device with working (non-nerfed) camera 2 api.
-
FYI device is Moto G 4.
-
Taking one of the Camera2 API sample apps and adding configuration would honestly be better than every available OS / device independent open source camera app.
-
Needing a 5-10 GB SDK is probably what keeps anyone from casually doing that...
-
The barrier to entry for Android app development basically ensures that only the worst or the most-dedicated developers actually produce any apps.
-
Don't need Android Studio to do Android app development.
-
Is there any good introductory resource on what you actually do need? What's the size of just the SDK & the working space needed to use it?
