Further review: still like it & seems like best option so far, but the exposure controls are badly lacking & it has some bugs.
There's no way to lock just shutter speed or ISO and leave thd other auto, much less any reasonable full auto (e.g. minimize ISO subject to shutter ≤1/75).
I've been using OpenCamera exclusively for years. improvements most noticeable on cheap phones w/crap OEM camera apps be sure to enable "new storage framework", "background thread" & "fast HDR" also, asciicam is completely nuts (-:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dozingcatsoftware.asciicam …
Aside from lack of good exposure controls, my biggest complaint is that, while it says it can work with device locked, it doesn't launch from camera shortcut while device is locked.
Set it to pro mode.
Where? It has manual controls. My complaint is lack of auto-exposure under constraints on shutter speed and/or ISO.
looks like someone already opened a request for shutter-priority a year ago: https://sourceforge.net/p/opencamera/tickets/265/ …
I logged a request for a pro version years ago. The author sees no reason for it. Where on earth do people find time to write free software.
I agree it is really good.
