Which means that there are FB engineers out there that don't understand informed consent, think what they are doing is good enough, or think that informed consent is unnecessary. That reaction reeks of self-righteousness.

The more I think about it, the more I think this FB employee should be outed. Force FB to take a public stance on this abhorrent view, either standing with them or firing them.

Eh. If he's a big wig, absolutely. If he's not, FB will fire, make a big show of it, and nothing will actually change, but FB will pretend otherwise.

The point is forcing FB to take a position on whether his view is acceptable. Make them claim they think it's not, then get caught acting according to the same view again next time.
