We’ve lost the word “trigger.” It’s been destroyed by too many jokes, too much abuse. Next time you use it in a joke, consider for a moment that I no longer have a good way to describe how experiences exacerbate existing physical and mental illnesses without inviting mockery.

*nod* My concern is the ease with which despicable ppl can do this to any word needed to convey something important. For the lulz, for the clicks, or for keeping certain ppl down.

This word’s been in semantic shift for years. I’m just surprised how little resistance it meets now.
