So many idiotic ideas like this are debunked by the magic words IT DOES NOT SCALE. Specifically, the defender's cost scales at much higher order than the attacker's.https://twitter.com/robjective/status/964680128092504065 …
Amount of effort to train N ppl not to be affected by a deception attack: O(N). Amount of effort to perform attack: O(1).

Attack is O(log(n)), as greater reach requires greater $ input. Educating 1 person once theoretically provides immunity for life. I guess I’m arguing because I like the idea of media literacy in curriculum
-
log(n) is constant for any practical purposes. Big O is more of an analogy that rigorous for bounded spaces. Media literacy is good but not a solution to this problem.
-
Lifetime immunity is a myth. Ability to convey immunity at all is even a myth. We can't even teach immunity to phishing.
-
Media literacy benefits some small subset of ppl who are interested & motivated, but the victim of misinformation is not the individuals tricked, it's society at large.
