One of my big surprises from participating in the DMCA Section 1201 exemption process is that every industry lobby in America thinks the copyright office is the right group to protect us from hacking.

3D printers that the user actually controls are scary to the © mafia because it means you can print Mickey Mouse toys without paying them license fees.

Once 3D printers are mainstream, they expect firmware to include functionality to ban printing of ©/™ designs just like 2D printers & copiers have that currency-recognition BS.
