The idea is to fit a moderately large number of modular, individually-super-low-cost addressable LEDs on a 2-wire "bus" carrying power and frequency-domain addressing.

You can try it, and it might work, but I wouldn't trust it. If you don't put a resistor in series w/ the LED, the LED is going to have a nonlinear effect on the response of the filter.

Ah, that kinda makes sense. So the Rs in the filter & the series R both need to be tuned appropriately relative to each other and the desired LED current, right?

Still 2 Cs & 3 Rs per LED sounds like a fun way to make a large number of addressable LEDs with just 2 wires.

…and I’m going to guess that for the typical R’s one uses for LED’s (100’s of Ω) and typical freqs of MCU’s, caps will be HUGE!
