On the one hand it’s a really cool and clever find. On the other hand — what’s the point of doing anything interesting in security if the people making the CPUs are bungling it?

Well, you should not trust a single architecture or manufacturer for critical processes. That is not easy to accomplish today, but it is doable. It will become more and more important (and easy) to do in the future, stay tuned ;)

They're all broken because OOO/speculative is largely essentially broken.
