They mean the same thing as leader and follower. I don't see how changing the words changes the concept. Everybody wants to be a chief, and nobody wants to be an Indian.

You may need a dictionary. There’s not and aception of slave as follower. If they all mean the same to you, why not to change it to a more descriptive less history/region charged association?
