I've never seen ublock break any web pages in the two years I've been using it, but of course that's only one anecdotal data point

Try my blog and see if kills the sponsor message. Or try this and see if it kills the CSP report: http://reporturidemos.azurewebsites.net/upgrade-https-and-report …

Sponsor message blocked. Turning off and showed. 1 item blocked and checking it was http://google-analytics.com based on Ad and tracking server list. CSP report page displays same with/without Ublock enabled. Checking settings and Block CSP option disabled. Enabling blocked 2 items

This is precisely why ublock is part of the problem:https://www.troyhunt.com/ad-blockers-are-part-of-the-problem/ …

Correction, doing further testing and it is EasyList that is blocking your message_of_support tag. And clearly they have no intent to remove that tag as they block ALL ads, regardless of intrusiveness or being annoying. https://forums.lanik.us/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=34138 …

Yes, I’ve had this argument many times before, the attitude is “burn everything and consequences be damned”

you may just have to accept that there are fundamental ideological differences at play here. not everyone agrees with ABP's standards for "acceptable advertisements", or even with the idea that there is such a thing as "acceptable advertising" in the first place

Acceptable ads is perceived by users as "pay to bypass adblock", which is largely true. But yes ppl will disagree on what's acceptable or if any ads even can be.

In my book, anything that makes non-same-origin resource requests, contains images/sound/animation, or interrupts reading/workflow is clearly unacceptable.

You don't need a CDN to deliver something that doesn't violate the other conditions...
