At the local level, speak up & complain to get cable news (esp Fox) out of public places: hotels, restaurants, airports, doctor's offices, etc.

It’s a fair question to ask how much news should be placed in the ambient atmosphere. On the one hand, we want an informed populace. On the other, it has a psychic cost, and more for some than others.

These channels aren't doing news though. They're playing propagandized distractions on loop. It has no value except to propaganda analysts.
