No, it's perfectly secure if you only use authenticated, encrypted protocols (tls/https). Otherwise it never was secure, nor was wired eth.

If there's a downgrade attack that works on you, it already worked if you were on a wifi AP the attacker was also on (common case).

I think you're referring to unauthenticated protocols. Bad dns or such doesn't affect https.

This is only a new attacker capability on networks where the password is somehow kept secret or psk isn't used (wpa enterprise).
