I think it's useful to end users too, and IMO it's exactly the right UI for something like this.

It's not something where a malicious party can easily give you misleading advice to work around it. It *sounds scary* to an average user.

Whereas "just click this dropdown then click ok" doesn't sound scary.

Well, okay. I suppose I phrased it wrong. More... Designed so that it can't be used without you knowing you're breaking security features.
