Cryptography experts: Obviously, problem with biometrics is they cannot be changed. Is there any other reason not to base public key on it?

Public key is inherently based only on private key. Private key must be based on safe entropy source to work.

If private key is based on anything else that somebody else could re-derive it from, it's not private.
