So lots of unix old-timers think stdio is unsuitable for interactive & async apps due to blocking, but there's an easy solution. Thread.
Maybe joke went over head, but to answer anyway, there's no nonblocking way to use stdio.

if you mean ANSI FILE∗ streams then I suppose not. But then again there's no threads in ANSI C either.
