Not sure. But getting a gps fix with no assist, tiny antenna, and not much computing power doesn't sound plausible.
Average person's conception is that GPS gets a fix in <5sec like their phone does. Not after hours of waiting.

It can tell you where your target spends the night, which is surely one usage case the intended market would be interested in.

But it probably can't tell you where they plugged in at a coffee shop for a quick charge or where they're sitting in the airport.

I guess that's what the ones with a camera are for. In case that's a requirement.
