Yeah, I do @musllibc, FOSS & infosec stuff. But now is not the time for a mostly-/only-tech Twitter feed.

I hope he and everyone sharing it in support were fired for creating a hostile work environment... They were, right?
That wouldn't happen at Google, and it probably shouldn't. It's gross though.
Confused why it shouldn't. Doesn't seem much different from misogynist & racist chat by the water cooler.
There's a difference in holding deplorable views in private and trying to make them norms among your coworkers. Latter harms workplace.
It depends how it was spread, I guess. If the link was given by the author to a few coworkers privately that's not really a firing offense.
Technically, even sharing things privately among coworkers could constitute a fireable offense.
*nod* To me, anything where you actively encourage coworkers to hold a view that their non-white-male colleagues aren't worthy is fireable.
Even if it weren't utterly gross and harmful to people and to the operation of the workplace, it puts the employer at huge risk of lawsuit.
fwiw, under other circumstances I wouldn't be surprised if firing this guy turned into a lawsuit for wrongful termination.
Yes, employers really need to mitigate that risk by clearly stating in contract that this is grounds for termination.
